Pickerington Gives Back - Helping the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, October 22, 8-3 PM Schedule of Events

Saturday, October 22nd from 8-3, we are going to have the 1st Annual Pickerington Gives Back Event.
Here's the schedule of events.
7:45 am - First shift of students to arrive at McD's on 256/Refugee Road to collect donations from passers by.  Parent's vans will sit in a row in the back parking lot, with their hatches open and large boxes in them (to be supplied by McD).  We will load items into the boxes as received.
An email will come out showing who is coming at what time.
3:00 - Final collection of items and the kids of the last shift head home to get ready for band.  Parents of vans will drive items to the RMH on Livingston Avenue and deliver what was collected.
Kids - PLEASE WEAR YOUR WARM UP JACKETS AND BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS.  We will have a few of you (on each shift) out on the sidewalks around the corners, playing some tunes of your choosing.  Get around three of your friends together and play for the passers-by to entice them to come in and drop off their donations.  If you receive a cash donation, please bring it inside and drop it off at the back of the restaurant where a parent will be.
Also, be sure to thank those folks dropping off donations and give them a smile.
Parents - Just be available to help out as needed.  If a cash donation is made, please bring it inside and we'll have a safe place to store it.
There will be a news reporter there so if he/she asks you any questions, you can give them your response.  We will be in the papers this week and a follow up story will be in next week's paper, too.
There also may be a tv news person there to do a story for the Saturday local news (like they were at band camp).
I want to personally thank each of you for helping in this event.  It may start small this year, but over time, we're hoping it will be an event that spreads far and wide.  Bless all of you!
